The term Tumbler arises from the Latin Tumblarse meaning to fall over when inebriated. Traditionally used to describe the action of trying to walk home pissed or for explaining away mysterious bruises i.e. I must’ve taken a tumble by the kebab shop. These historic references are now generally lost on the consumptive public with the word Tumbler morphing to represent a cute, often colourful cup for cafe dandies. However in the context of this collection the potter would like it known that this Tumbler is designed for the express purpose of gratuitous guzzling leading to intoxication and silly behaviour the level of which can be managed by the inclusion of ice.
